Honeymoon Part 2: Geneva, Switzerland

Following our adventures in Paris, Bae and I happily left our tiny hotel in the 7th arondissement and made our way back to Charles de Gaulle airport to board our Air France flight to Geneva. The flight was only an hour long, but they still served us a nice, healthy sandwich! Knowing that Switzerland would be expensive, we were happy to have provisions in case it was difficult to find food - which it was! All the restaurants were closed between lunch and dinner. The only place that we could find premade food was a small poke place that had some premade bowls in their cooler. After dropping off our things at our next hotel, which ended up being more style than substance, we visited the Phillipe Patek Museum - watches galore, and photos were not allowed - then walked around the city to see some sights.

Cirque Knie was in town - we had no idea until we saw the whole set-up! Didn’t attempt to get tickets though.

The “L'horloge fleurie” or Flower Clock landmark. Appropriate for the watchmaking capital.

Jet d’Eau, the city’s most famous landmark, born out of a need to relieve water pressure for a hydraulic plant (now it exists merely as a dynamic symbol of the city’s environmentally-forward identity

Our stroll through the city included a stop into Teuscher chocolates, a famous chocolatier known for their beautiful handcrafted paper flower decor, and couldn’t resist picking up some of their champagne truffles.

Teuscher chocolates, attractive and delicious

We retired to our hotel for the night before heading out for dinner up a cozy narrow street.

We enjoyed fondue and snails at the Restaurant Hôtel-de-Ville as well as a salad that was more bacon than vegetables.

They should’ve called this dish “bacon with a few leaves” or something.

The next day, we took a bus bound for Mont Blanc - just under an hour away from Geneva, back in France!
