Iceland
I first fell in love with Iceland in April 2016 when my parents and I drove a rental car around Reykanes, the Golden Circle, and then followed the 800 mile Ring Road around the island including Snaefellsnes peninsula. I went back a second time in February 2017 hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights, then returned for the third time in late June/early July 2023 to backpack the famous Laugavegur (or Laugavegurinn) and Fimmvörðuháls trails. Experiencing three different seasons gives a sense of how varied the daylight hours change in the arctic, from what seems like endless night to midnight sun.
